Information Regarding an online scam
There is a website advising you that they can provide you with a certified copy of a birth, marriage or death record for $70.00. They will email it to you. This is a scam! It can’t be a certified copy if they are emailing the document & a certified copy is only $15.00 through your county recorder’s office or the iowa bureau of health statistics. Please do not order from them. A certified copy should never be more than $15.00. We have a statewide system where we can produce a birth certificate from 1990 forward from any county in the state, marriage and death records are from 1954 forward. Call the office at 515-961-1089 if you have questions.
